Welcome to River Mude Churches

The River Mude Benefice (group of churches) is made up of All Saints' Church, Mudeford and St Luke's Church, Burton. We share our vicar, Rev Kathy, our associate priest, Rev Wendy, and our administrator, Rachel. We are delighted to be connected with each other as we enjoy sharing joint services and socialising together. We also benefit from working together in lots of ways, including administrating baptisms, wedding and funerals.

Our Benefice Team.

Vicar - Rev Canon Kathy Hicken

I am privileged to be the vicar of these two wonderful parishes, and thank you for your interest in our churches. I arrived in January 24, and it’s a great joy to work with 2 church communities who love God and want to share his love with their communities. At both churches we love to receive newcomers, and you will be greeted with a warm welcome in both. Have a look around our site at the worship and activities of both, and we very much hope to meet you in person.

Associate Priest - Rev Wendy Cooper

I am enjoying being a part of the River Mude Churches as the Associate Vicar.  I joined the team in 2025 after some years in Salisbury.

Administrator - Rachel Nash

I started as the benefice administrator at the end of 2024 and am enjoying being a part of the River Mude Churches team.  It is a joy to live in this beautiful part of the world and to be a part of the Mudeford and Burton communities.  I am always very happy to try and help answer any questions you might have about the life of the churches in our benefice, life events and what’s on.  So do please feel free to get in touch (see contacts page).  My usual working hours are Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 9am to 2pm.
